SurfaLube™ Equipment Storage Fluid is specifically formulated for mid- to long-term storage (up to 36 months) of urethane dispensing and polyurea spray equipment. Its primary purpose is to prevent isocyanate polymers from crystallizing by acting as a plasticizer, keeping the polymers flexible and helping avert the formation of isocyanate crystals in transfer pumps, hoses, proportioners, and guns. It is especially effective for winterizing your equipment, as it can withstand extremely cold environments without freezing; its freezing point can be as low as -70 °C (-94 °F).
SurfaLube™ is a high-performance lubricant with an excellent environmental profile. It is easy to store under normal conditions and compatible with a wide range of machines and transfer pumps, including those made of carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum alloy. This lubricant is gentle on most O-rings, gaskets, seals, and linings, helping them last longer. Additionally, it does not freeze in frigid conditions (down to -94 °F).
After thoroughly flushing the hoses and polyurethane spray equipment, SurfaLube™ should be introduced through the spray line. This step is crucial to prevent the formation of polyurea and crystallized isocyanates that may result from any remaining residue reacting with moisture in the air.
You can eliminate disposal costs by recycling spent SurfaLube™ through vacuum distillation.
